Extra Credit Assignments

9th Grade and 10th Grade:

Use the following format to research the authors listed for each grade below.

  1. Title Page: Name of author, your name, and class period.
  2. Contents (Choose any ONE [1] of the following):
    1. Timeline: A chronological depiction of important personal, social, and professional events in the author's life. At least 10 events.
    2. Birth Certificate: Contains birth date, place, parents and any other birth information that you find.
    3. Obituary: Should be, in form, similar to a real obituary found in newspapers, even if your author is still alive.
    4. Epitaph: A saying or verse that describes the author, which would go on the gravestone.
    5. Newspaper Article: One-page newspaper article reporting and explaining what your author is so well known for.
    6. Diary Entry: One-page diary entry from the point-of-view of the author, which reveals information about him/her.
    7. Letter: One-page letter from your author to a teenager/student which gives him/her advice on how to succeed in writing.
  3. Works Cited: Follow the MLA format to list your sources.
